Aunjanue Ellis

Aunjanue A. Ellis Taylor is an American producer and actress. She is a graduate of the BA in African-American Studies and an MFA from the Tisch School of Arts New York University. Aunjanue Lisa Ellis, a writer and American actor who is active in theater in film, television, and theatre. Her career began as a theater actress and then appeared in numerous TV shows and independent as well as mainstream films. She gained fame for playing Miranda Shaw on ABC's Quantico. Then, she made an appearance in BET's epic television series The Book of Negroes. She began her career acting in 1995 when she played Ariel on the stage in The Tempest. Her credits on stage include The Broadway performance of the Joe Turner musical Come and Gone A Winter's Tale Drowning Crow and Seeking the Genesis. With regards to her career in movies the most recognizable roles she has played include Men of Honor The Caveman's Valentine The Express The Help. Her work in television she's received praise for her role as the regular character in ABC's drama about cops High Incident.
