
Suzanne Pleshette (January 31, 1937 from 1937 to January 19th 2007) was an American theatre, film television, voice actress. [1] Pleshette started her career in the theatre and started appearing in films in the late 1950s and later appeared in films with a prominent name like Rome Adventure (1962), Alfred Hitchcock's The Birds (1963), and Spirited Away (2001). In later years, she was a part of various television productions and was often acting as a guest. She was Emily Hartley in The Bob Newhart Show, from 1972 until 1978 which earned her several Emmy Award nominations. Pleshette, a daughter of Geraldine (nee Kaplan),[1 and Eugene Pleshette, was born January 31, 1937 in Brooklyn Heights. Her parents were Jewish parents of immigrants from Russia or Austria-Hungary. She was the daughter of Geraldine Rivers, a performer and dancer. Her father was stage manager for the Paramount Theater, Manhattan, as well as the Paramount Theater, Brooklyn.
